Did you ever wonder why God put thorns and spines on many desert plants such as cactus? As I have watched through many droughts, I realize that these plants would probably be extinct today if they did not have some kind of protection from animals eating them. Rabbits and cows are a few animals who will eat a cactus in a drought, but the sharp spines hinder them at least somewhat. Maybe that is why these plants have thorns!

Your post beautifully highlights the delicate balance of nature and the ingenious ways plants adapt to survive. Thinking about the cacti’s spines as a defense mechanism, especially during droughts, adds a layer of empathy and understanding to the harsh realities of the desert. It’s a powerful reminder of the interconnectedness of all living things.
